This week on the Friday News Update:
- LG unveils new ThinQ smart home devices, TVs, speakers and headphones with the Google Assistant and a folding TV, but its robot Cloi failed to respond to some of the presenter's questions
- Lenovo announces the Smart Display, an Echo Show rival with the Google Assistant, the Mirage Solo, a Daydream standalone VR Headset and the Mirage Camera, a 180 degree camera, some new Moto Mods and new laptops
- Huawei announces a 3K standalone VR headset called the VR 2 and the WiFi Q2 WiFi extender
- Alcatel announces new budget phones with 18:9 screens - one has facial recognition and another has dual cameras
- Sony announces an updated OLED TV, new mid-range phones with Android Oreo, a Dolby Atmos soundbar and earphones with the Google Assistant
- Google announces that the Google Assistant is coming to Android Auto and new Google Assistant devices
- Samsung announces a TV called The Wall, a smart whiteboard, a new version of their smart Family Hub fridge, that Bixby is coming to their new TVs and that their Gear smartwatches and TVs will get a SmartThings app.
- The Samsung Galaxy S9 will be announced next month
- Razer announces Project Linda which turns your Razer Phone into a laptop
- Nvidia announces Big Format Gaming Displays with 4K HDR, 120Hz refresh rate and an Nvidia Shield TV built in
- HTC announces the Vive Pro
