Episode 39 (24th August 2018): The first POCOPHONE is so fast it's called F1

This week on the Friday News Update:
- Xiaomi announces the POCOPHONE F1 in India, with a Snapdragon 845, 6 or 8 GB of RAM and a 4000mAh battery for the equivalent of £230
- Nokia announces the global versions of the X5 and X6, the 5.1 Plus and 6.1 Plus, with notched screens, glass backs, dual cameras and great processors for a budget price
- Fitbit announce the Charge 3, with a much higher resolution touchscreen, calendar and weather apps and smartphone notifications plus Fitbit's activity tracking starting at £130
- DJI announce the Mavic 2 Pro and Zoom drones, the Pro with an adjustable aperture and the Zoom with 2x optical zoom, plus Hasselblad cameras, omnidirectional obstacle sensing, up to 31 minute battery life and loads more features

- Motorola announces the P30 in China, a nearly identical iPhone X clone with a huge notch, the Snapdragon 636 and AI dual cameras
- The specs and design of the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Lite and some of the specs of the Mate 20 Pro have already been leaked
- Intel could announce updated Core processors on the 1st of October
- Android Police leaks an image and some of the specs of the Key2 LE

Episode 37 (10th August 2018): Samsung's latest phone has some Note9-worthy new features

This week on the Friday News Update:
- Samsung have announced the Galaxy Note9, with a 4000mAh battery, new camera features and a Bluetooth S-Pen that can control the phone from metres away, plus an exclusive Fortnite skin
- Samsung have also launched the Galaxy Watch with 7 day battery life, stress detection and Tizen 4.0
- Samsung have also announced their first smart speaker with Bixby, the Galaxy Home, with AKG sound, SoundSteer to point the speaker's audio at you and a touch-sensitive white light ring which can control the volume, updates to Bixby including Google Assistant-like follow-up questions and personalised recommendations, and new Spotify integration for their devices that lets you pause music on one device and continue listening on another
- Android P's official name is Android Pie
- Qualcomm will finally announce a new smartwatch processor next month

Episode 34 (20th July 2018): OK Google, stop forcing Android manufacturers to install Chrome

Episode 32 (6th July 2018): You'll need to S-Pen-d a lot of money to get the Galaxy Note 9

This week on the Friday News Update:
- The Galaxy Note 9 could cost €1000 and have the same cameras as the Galaxy S9+, a 1150 nit screen and music control and a photo timer trigger through the S-Pen, according to rumours
- The OnePlus 6 now comes in a Red colour at no extra cost, available on the 10th of July
- Apple is remaking its maps data for Apple Maps, starting with San Francisco, using iPhones and Apple Maps cars
- Your phone or the upcoming Galaxy Tab S4 will soon work as a second screen for Samsung DeX, and the Galaxy Tab S4 will be compatible with DeX
- Android Headlines have published a photo of the upcoming Galaxy Tab S4, showing what could be an iris scanner, no fingerprint sensor and thinner bezels
- Your Gmails could have been read by developers of apps, including Edison Software
- Honor's president has confirmed that the Honor Note 10 is coming, with a 6.9" AMOLED screen, according to rumours
- A Samsung Messages bug is causing it to send your photos to random contacts
- The rumoured cheaper Surface devices could have Intel Pentium Silver and Gold processors
- The Mi Mix 3 could have a new Vivo NEX-like design
- The next iPhones could come with USB-C fast chargers
- The iPhone 9 and X Plus/XI Plus could come in new colours

Episode 31 (29th June 2018): Take Note of Samsung's Note 9 event (preferrably with an S-Pen)

CLARIFICATION: The price I gave for the Mi Pad 4 is for the 4GB RAM/64GB storage WiFi model - there's also a 3GB RAM/32GB RAM model which converts to £125, as well as a £170 LTE version of the 4GB/64GB model.
This week on the Friday News Update:
- Samsung announces that the Galaxy Note 9 will be announced on the 9th of August, just before a website releases details about the phone including camera, battery and S-Pen details
- Honor releases the new Honor 7S smartphone, giving you decent specs and a (kind of) bezelless screen for just £99
- Huawei announces when devices will get GPU Turbo, which will make them 60% faster
- The Zenfone 5 is now up for preorder in the UK, costing just £350 (or £300 for a limited time)
- Nokia are working on a flagship smartphone with a fingerprint sensor under the screen and exciting cameras
- Google will soon begin testing Google Duplex
- Xiaomi releases an 8" Mi Pad 4 Android tablet with a Snapdragon 660
- The LG V40 could have 5 cameras
- Motorola are announcing at least 1 new smartphone on the 2nd of August

Episode 30 (22nd June 2018): Oppo asks you to Find X if screen-to-body ratio = 93.8%

- Oppo announces their almost completely bezelless flagship, the Find X, with a 93.8% screen to body ratio, cameras, a speaker and sensors that pop up from the back of the screen, 3D facial recognition and a curved OLED screen
- Garmin announce the Fenix 5 Plus smartwatch range, with a music player, running/cycling route finder, Garmin Pay, up to 20 day battery life and a blood oxygen sensor on the 5X Plus
- YouTube Premium comes to the UK, with ad-free videos which can be downloaded for offline watching, and access to YouTube Music, also available on its own with a cheaper subscription, with a huge collection of music videos, remixes and live performances
- Instagram launch IGTV, a YouTube-like video app with vertical video
