- DJI announces a smaller and cheaper version of the Mavic Pro drone called the Mavic Air, with 4K video recording and HDR photo capturing, 1080p 120fps slow-mo recording, panoramas and smart features
- Amazon releases their Echo Spot smart alarm clock with a screen and Alexa in the UK
- Alleged benchmark of the budget Samsung Galaxy J8 found on the internet
- Amazon opens a checkout-free shop called Amazon Go
- Supposed sketch of penta-lens Nokia 10 (that's FIVE lenses!) emerges online
- Apple opens preorders for the HomePod and announces iOS 11.3 which will let you disable the controversial 'power management' mode on iPhones
- Samsung sends out invitation for Galaxy S9 announcement event

Episode 8 (19th January 2018): HTC gives the U11 new EYEs with dual front cameras

This week on the Friday News Update:

- HTC have announced the new U11 EYEs mid range phone in China, featuring the same main camera as the U11, dual front cameras, AR Stickers similar to Snapchat filters and facial recognition
- Honor have announced the Honor 9 Lite in India, featuring dual cameras on the front and back and an 18:9 bezel-less screen
- OnePlus confirms that their website was hacked to steal card details
- Samsung Galaxy S9 packaging photo posted to Reddit, revealing amazing cameras and AKG stereo speakers
- Google releases update for Android devices after Google Cast crashed people's WiFi routers
- Renders apparently of some of Motorola's phones for 2018 released by Droid Life, revealing some very interesting new phones

This week on the Friday News Update:
- LG unveils new ThinQ smart home devices, TVs, speakers and headphones with the Google Assistant and a folding TV, but its robot Cloi failed to respond to some of the presenter's questions
- Lenovo announces the Smart Display, an Echo Show rival with the Google Assistant, the Mirage Solo, a Daydream standalone VR Headset and the Mirage Camera, a 180 degree camera, some new Moto Mods and new laptops
- Huawei announces a 3K standalone VR headset called the VR 2 and the WiFi Q2 WiFi extender
- Alcatel announces new budget phones with 18:9 screens - one has facial recognition and another has dual cameras
- Sony announces an updated OLED TV, new mid-range phones with Android Oreo, a Dolby Atmos soundbar and earphones with the Google Assistant
- Google announces that the Google Assistant is coming to Android Auto and new Google Assistant devices
- Samsung announces a TV called The Wall, a smart whiteboard, a new version of their smart Family Hub fridge, that Bixby is coming to their new TVs and that their Gear smartwatches and TVs will get a SmartThings app.
- The Samsung Galaxy S9 will be announced next month
- Razer announces Project Linda which turns your Razer Phone into a laptop
- Nvidia announces Big Format Gaming Displays with 4K HDR, 120Hz refresh rate and an Nvidia Shield TV built in
- HTC announces the Vive Pro

- Amazon Prime Video is released for the Apple TV

Episode 4 (1st December 2017): Honor makes an honourable attempt at a bezel-less mid-range phone

- Honor announces a mid-range phone called the Honor 7X, with a 5.9” bezel-less screen, a dual camera, a 16nm octa-core processor and a fast fingerprint scanner
- EE announces a budget phone called the EE Hawk, with a Gorilla Glass all-glass design, which costs just £149
- Essential add a Portrait Mode to their camera app and say that a wireless charging dock and a new colour, Stellar Grey, are nearly ready for the Essential Phone
- Apple fixes a serious problem with macOS High Sierra that let anyone easily get root access to your Mac - and breaks file sharing in the process
- Google fixes a... slightly less serious problem in Android - the cheese was below the burger on the burger emoji whereas most other burger emojis feature the cheese above the burger
- Microsoft start selling the Samsung Galaxy Note 8
- Google send out a survey which suggests that they could be working on a YouTube Edition Android phone

Episode 2 (27th October 2017): Huawei's new phone wants to be your Mate
